Sickle anaemia is a tropical disease and lots of people die of it in africa especially during childbirth. The red cells in the body are shaped like a sickle and the patients' body produces a lot of white blood cell and because the red blood cells are not normal they clogged together and causes bone pain especially in the joints because there is less oxygen produced in the body

You are right — it's a genetic disease. In sickle cell, one of the components of hemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying protein inside red blood cells) is abnormal. There is no treatment right now to overwrite the genetic code that causes this abnormality.
