White flakes in my tropical fish tank?

Nick asked:

I have a 10gal freshwater fish tank that has recently been plagued with ick (ich.) I have been treating the tank properly with a medicine called “QuICK Cure.” It is a petco product that, according to customer reviews, works wonders on curing ick (ich.) So far i’ve noticed that, yes, my fish have been losing the white flakes, but it seems that the water now has floating white particles that resemble dandruff.

I’ve never noticed these before and i’m wondering if it is the fallen ick (ich) [though there is way too much to have come from my four platies.]

Any ideas of what it might be?

Yeah as he said just take a sample of your water and ask for them to look at it.

Few monthes ago i got Ich, they really are brutal they wiped everything but two fish. (when i had like 15)

You may want to do water changings ever like 2 or 3 days for the next few weeks, get the water clean again.
Then after a month of that clean it weekly as you normally should.

    Hope this helped you. :]

I just went through the dreaded ich war and I will pass on this website to you. Ich goes through a couple of stages before it’s eradicated so take a look at this.
