Single mom looking for a safe place (tropical) to live with my 7 year old daughter. Any ideas?

I have a strong desire to move some where like the Caribbean. To live my dream and not to live the day in, and day out regular routine I’m living now. I want to do something different with my life. I am wondering if I should stay in Canada where I am now, and not to uproot my child. Is it wrong and a bit crazy to think of moving to another country when we have it so good in Canada? I know there are a lot of things I need to think of, like can I work there and where would we live? What’s the education like? Would I have enough money etc. There’s no family living close to us. It’s just her and I. Plus our two dogs.
Does anyone have any ideas (places that would be good to look into) or suggestions?

Do you see anyway for the problems in Haiti to be solved?
With a growing food crisis, powered by bureaucratic red tape keeping foreign aid form getting into the people who need it and an agricultural industry that cannot even sustain itself. Add that to the seemingly constant barrage of tropical systems that ruins crops before the harvest.
And not to mention the constant lose of life and property from those storms.
These, along with poor health care and education are feeding poverty in the country and it seems that anytime steps are made in the right direction, they take 3 steps back. Do you see anyway for the problems facing Haiti to be solved? If so, how?

The man I’ve loved for eight years has asked me out?
When I was 16 I fell head-over-heels for a guy who was 24. He knew I liked him, but he said that he only liked me as a friend (age difference). I did my best to get over him, but we kept a friendship. We traveled to Thailand together, and to Japan, and our families became friends and would dine together. We’d go out to try new restaurants together (both of our families) and he came to all of our family parties, and our friends became accustomed to him and enjoyed his company. I tried to move on but the feelings were stuck there.
He was very busy in law school, too.
Now, I’m 24 and very successful and he’s also very successful (he’s 32 and owns his own law-firm). He’s asked me out, and I said yes.
He told me that when he was 24 he had liked me back, VERY much, actually. But it was just a bad timing. He had wanted to finish his education and be successful first (he wanted to be able to afford expensive jewelry for no reason, flowers, surprise tropical vacations, ballet tickets, and elite restaurants). The age difference was also way too big. He said that he had planned the whole thing. He had planned to pretend that it was nothing more than friendship but keep a very tight bond, and he had known that when I was older and stable, he wouldn’t hesitate to ask me out.
I’m happy that he asked me out, and I did say yes. But I’m bothered. How should I feel that he wasn’t honest with me? The age difference was too big, but couldn’t he have just said that the age difference was too big and he had other stuff to do, but that we should wait for eachother? Why the trickery? I suffered for him for eight years.
Am I overreacting? Should he have been honest? Or should I just be thankful that I accepted a date with someone responsible?

Aquarium Sump question?

I’d like a bit of education on sumps please…
Basically, i was thinking of setting up a sump in the cupboard under my tank. am i right in thinking all i need to do this is;
1) a power head to pump the water out of my tank and into the sump.
2) a tank with glass sheets siliconed into the right places.
3) filter media
4) a power head to pump the water back up to my tank.
Also, this would be for a tropical tank.
is there any point in this other than increasing the water content for the fish and the fact that it will be easier to maintain than a canister filter?
Thanks
